They've called looking for me or my brother. Strange thing is, they use my brother's fully name. He lives in another state (we haven't lived together in 20+ years) - when they call they say they think they are a family member of ours, looking for a "long lost relative". Ummm NOT! My family is so small that we all know where we are. lol
They are a collection agency...and it is illegal for them to obtain info about a person (your brother) from another person (you) for the purposes of attempting to collect on a debt. Whether the debt is valid OR NOT! Different states have different laws, so be careful, and do the right thing and do your homework. Some collection agencies have been known to make some outrageous threats to try to get what they want. Also illegal. Contact the appropriate agency to find out the rules and regulations in your area. If you don't know who to call, try starting with the FCC. DON'T LET THESE THUGS GET TO YOU, LET ALONE WIN!
