Got a call from this number today. Did not recognize it so I did not answer. They did not leave a message. I tried calling back within 2 minutes and it said the number had been disconnected. I know there is a way to call from one number, but have another to show up on caller ID... whoever this is must be up to no good.
got call today didn't answer it because I have a prepaid cell so if I pick up it gets charged to me. So I will place this number on my reject list. It's getting long now. I also have my # on do not call list. Apparently it must not work!!
This number called me a while back, they claimed I owed a Hospital Bill from 2008. I informed them that this was sent to collections by mistake as the hospital had recieved compensation from my insurance AND me and they refunded my money to me because of the double payment. The Debt Collector told me that I was wrong and that I had to pay them over the phone and asked for my credit card number. I said, " I'm not dumb enough to give you anything over the phone, let alone my credit card info" she said "you WILL pay this" and I replied "you CAN go f**k yourself" and hung up on her.
I received a call from this number on my mobile phone, which is registered on the Federal Do Not Call registry (https://www.donotcall.gov/). It was an automated call from "Card Services" about lowering the interest rate on my credit card. I followed the prompts to get to a person, "Brad." I asked Brad which card, to which he replied VISA, Master Card (pretty generic response). He immediately started in about interest rates. I asked how he obtained my telephone number (mobile phone). Brad said from Equifax. Brad said, "Do you have high interest rates? It's really pretty simple." I replied, "Are you familiar with the Federal Do Not Call Registry?" Brad said that it does not apply to them because they are not "selling anything." When I said they were marketing about credit cards, Brad said, "You need to get your [***] straight!" and he hung up on me.
They are not respecting the Do Not Call Registry and I don't know the actual point of the call or what their game is. I filed a complaint with the Federal Do Not Call Registry. You can register up to three phone numbers. Once they have been registered for 31 days, you can file complaints. I suggest registering your number and reporting such calls. The more complaints they receive on a number, the better. Maybe they can do something about it.
I received this call today, June 22nd, at 11:01 AM. The caller ID says Carlisle, IA.
Due to my job I have to keep my phone in my pocket with the ringer turned on, so now that I know that it's a credit card scam it is very annoying. I work at a hospital and I don't have time for things like this while at work.
