Received call from Sharon Gardner on my answering machine. Message was referring to package that will be shipped out unless I opt out. Nice try, but no cigar for that call. FYI: I never answer my phone, ever. Oh, and Sharon: your voice is quite manly. Lol
Caller was a scammer trying to sell seniors some kind of alert device.
I get lots of calls like this to the point that I got a call blocker. Lots of them out there...the cheapest one I found (and it sure looks cheap) was one called Pro Call Blocker and I just plugged it in to the phone line (didn't even bother to program it). Now whenever a spam call comes in, I just press the blacklist button (it stores up to 1500) and presto...no more calls from that number. You can also manually enter numbers; If you make a mistake, just scroll thru and hit the remove button. It logs all calls in or out and you can program it for the current date and time (I didn't bother as all I use it for is blocking spam numbers. Best money I ever spent. Make sure you get the latest version....Amazon, Ebay, etc....just do a Google search...approx. $35 - $50.
Don't answer any of these calls:
A. If a live person they are lying, no real charities call , they say salvation army, etc.
they try different names and different phone numbers. Anybody can call and day calling for cancer soc.
B. all they want is your phone number
C. If you pick up that lets them know someone there
D. They sell your number to other scammers
E. don't call back. Don't try to tell them anything...
