It's a fraud. The IRS does not call you. Instead, they send a letter first, and make an appointment. In addition, they will also inform you of the reason for their contact. With reference to a Tax Report Period filed. If the IRS makes
changes to your figures, they are obligated to inform you, under law! You then have (30) days from date of notice, to acknowledged your wish to appeal, or object to their changes. You must however, state your reasons
then and attach any evidence to your allegation or counter claim? In either case, ensure you attach a copy to your "written correspondence" to the IRS, and send it via Certified Return Receipt! Ensure also you make complete
copies for your personal records! You'll find out the reasons later. In either case, the people at (516)453-6962 are phonies and just plain Marketeers.
String them along for as long as you can stand it, politely ask to put them on hold for a moment, put the phone down and walk away. Wastes their time since they wasted yours.
More of the same annoying, harassing calls about lowering credit card interest rates. We have been registered on the Do Not Call List for years and it seems to do absolutely nothing. Every time I receive a solicitation of any time, I do file a complaint. Don't know what good it does but since the site gives that option I use it.
Folks, we need to report ALL of these scam calls at complaints.donotcall.gov. Be sure to give all of the requested details as to date and time of call, and number that was displayed. When enough complaints are received, the feds do go after the worst offenders. Even if the caller id is "spoofed," the feds apparently have the technology to trace these calls to their origin...maybe they ask their friends in the National Security Agency?
Received a call said "Hi, this is Farrah. im calling about your IRS back taxes....." so i press "0" to get a person to tell them I have no back taxes dont call me again and it just looped me around to the same recording
