Received this call around 9:30AM today. Didn't answer it. Interesting one of their scams is "Healthy Living." For many years Weight Watchers Corp. was headquartered in Manhasset. But I trust they don't have anything to do with this.
caller id same as phone number. I disconnected answering machine and wasn't home when call came in.
I read that this could be a Medicare scam. They offer meds or cheap knee or back braces and all they want is your Medicare number. They run the order through a scam doctor or pharmacy and bill Medicare for 10 times what the crap they send is worth. They don't even know if who they are calling is on Medicare, they just call until they find a sucker.
My wife always says: “Never answer this type of call because it makes it worse”. And there is a certain truth to this: Several months ago, I configured nomo. They pick up, and hang up right after the first ring. But here's the problem: The caller receives answer supervision. The caller, now “hot to trot” because of an answered call, calls back half a dozen times a day! So……. The phone rings, and RINGS, and R I N G S, all day long! Don't get me wrong – I like nomo, because it works! It's just too bad the telcos won't allow this technology to be configured into their switches like a “spam” filter so no one has to deal with the constant ringing.
