hey called and claim they were from pba looking for money. I asked how much went to the org they said 15 percent I said no thank you and he said to me f u but spelled it out for wure its cam
Yes, its a scam. I got a call yesterday from 5169860747. He wanted money for the Police Conference of NY, I said no and hung up. I remember a scam like this happened to me back in the late 70's. At that time they were called "The Police Officers Times". Like a jerk I gaive them $ 25.00. They sent a guy over to my house to pick up my company check on the same day. Back in those days $ 25.00 was a lot of money. Money that I really didn't have. Afterwards I called my local police precinct and asked them if that organization is real. They told me sometimes they leave a few two page newsletters at the front desk, but they always throw them out. My guess is that one of my adversaries gave them my phone number to harass me. If it happens again, I think I'll write a letter of complaint to the Crime Prevention Officer at my local precinct.
Yet another call from what I believe is a scam. The problem with operations like this is that they are trying to pass themselves off as a charity in order to get around the do not call registry.
