I got a call today from this guy who identified himself as Dan Barton from Woodstock. He asked for the president by his first name, not his last. When I started grilling the guy about what was the nature of his call, etc. he came up with that he has spoken to him before and he was following up on some European shoes, size 42. Now, since my President is European, that was a pretty good strategy. I know the type of caller this is and I have been the "gatekeeper" for a long time. I always google the number to confirm legitamacy. Needless to say, the President isn't getting the message.
"Tony Penn" called asking for "Stu" stating he is with the "Woodstock Group" dealing in finances following up on information he mailed out. He noted he has been out of the country and following up. I asked if he would provide me a return phone number in the event he would be disconnected when I transfer the call and he said, "Doesn't it show up on your caller ID there". I informed he we do not have caller ID and he provided me an 800-478-2503 to return the call. I informed him "Stu" is unavailable and he wouldn't accept being transfered to voicemail.
They continue to call my boss at his home and his office. I won't put them through when they call the office. They are so rude and obnoxious- especially the one who calls himself Mr. Smallowitz.
My call was with Andrew Myers. Great tip about BP. I had a few minutes, gave him 29. He went from wanting me to but 1000 shares of BP down to 100. I told him 6 times I was not his guy. It was not until I heard the "coach" in the background feeding him every line that I called him out on the coach...."hello, hello, you still there?" click
