I lost my office manager to breast cancer. When I give to charities that help in the fight, I want to make sure my dollar goes as far as possible.
I went to www.charitynavigator.org/,
the Wise Giving Alliance, associated with the BBB. at www.give.org/,
and www.charitynavigator.org/.
I searched for Breast Cancer America on each site, and came up empty. If the organization exists, it is so new that no one has information on it.
I'm not going to use the term "total fraud", but someone has to prove to me that Breast Cancer America exists.
There are 1) non-charities, and there are 2) legitimate charities, and there are 3) legitimate charities you should avoid, because they don't spend wisely.
Here is an example of the third category:

I think Breast Cancer America is in category 1. And it wouldn't therefore surprise me that people are reporting calls that sound like scam tactics.
Asked by name of the owner of the house , in very aggressive manner ( requested by name to speak elderly male ! ( like it would be her well known friend) ..how did she knew the name of the owner- private phone number ?? when I responded " the owner is not here " I was able to hear some angry verbal reaction & hung up.. The same # phone calls have been repeated multiple times since last two weeks , the usual time is 830 pm and lunch time ..CD shows" breast cancer AM " ..
