Someone with an Indian accent ask for me and says he with the IRS he's calling about a deficiency on my 2011 taxes and to call this number back and ask for extension 142 and ask for officer Mike Anderson.
So I call them back and used my home phone number instead of my cell phone number they called me on and answer "IRS" and ask what my name is and I tell them, and then ask me for my phone number and he said that "... that phone number is not on the list" and hung up. Again an Indian accent.
All I can say about this is the call came from Chico, CA and in California everyone knows that the IRS office for that state is in Sacramento, CA, I know I used to live there and here's another thing, the IRS in not in the habit of hanging up on taxpayers.
They had call me on my cell phone so there is no caller-id other than the phone number (530) 289-8060
Called left 2 messages 1 from this number and one from 951-223-6693. Same guy saying he was a lawyer and this is a time sensitive case. When I called back it said could not complete this call.
