Got a call yesterday from Steven long said I had a legal matter to take care of. Couldn't understand this guy at all.. I'm so happy I found this page!!
Called and left msg. Claimed to be IRS representative. Claimed a serious problem that did not match up with any facts known to us. Bad english usage. Message difficult to hear. Researched and determined this to be fraudulent call. Please report these calls anywhere and everywhere you can. I found others reports helped me in this case. Big thank you to others who posted on this here and elsewhere!
Caller called and left message for my wife claiming to be Shawn Miller from the IRS. Strong Asian accent and seemed to be reading from a script. Claimed problem with wife's income tax, however my wife is unemployed and did not file a tax return. Total BS and I will report to local police due to postings on this site.
Definitely take this action. Also go to www.ftc.gov and report this scam. https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#&panel1-1
I am tax professional. When I identified myself as one to the caller, he became even more threatening and actually used the term CID which stands for the Criminal Investigation Division of the IRS. I told him to send me a letter and hung up. He called back immediately and became even more threatening.
As a tax pro who provides representation for IRS problems, I know this is a scam. This is not how the IRS works. Everyone, please follow through and report this scam; we need to put these people out of business ASAP.
I received a call from 530-380-2641 several times in the early mornings of Dec. 4th & 5th of 2013.
The caller claims to be Peter with the IRS.
I didn't give him any info because he failed to prove he's an IRS agent. He became very annoyed and hung up the phone like the coward scammer he is.
BEWARE OF THIS NUMBER, 530-380-2641, AND DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION!
