Got a call yesterday from Steven long said I had a legal matter to take care of. Couldn't understand this guy at all.. I'm so happy I found this page!!
Got the call at 1015 am this morning, "This message is intended for XXX. XXX the very second you listen to this message. I need you all your retain attorney off record to return the call. The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. My name is David Jones from internal revenue service department(?) and hotline to my division is five oh three zero 3802641. I repeat it's 5303802641. Don't try to disregard this message and do return the call before any legal action takes place. We have determined that there is a deficiency in your income tax. Call back as soon as possible. Goodbye...." I called back and was asked for a phone number to reference. Then told I owed 9843.36 and I had to pay half right now or the police would be at my door. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told I do not have the clearance to speak to a supervisior. I was given an hour and a half to come up with the money. While I was in a small panic I googled the number and found this site. I called him back and Told him I was reporting him to the police and the irs, he laughed and said the local authorities would be calling me in about a half hour. I told him I read they do that as part of the scam, he immediatly began calling me a*****LE and a MF. I answered by saying now what IRS agent speaks like that, and hung up. DO NOT LET THEM SCARE YOU. SCAM SCAM SCAM.
I just got a very disturbing call from a rude man with an Indian accent saying he was from the IRS and threatend me and told me that I would be "dragged into court, put in jail for one year, my drivers licence revoked and charged $25,000 in court costs. When I tried to ask him a question he told me to shut up and listen to him. I told him I had to call him back and when I called the number, he answered saying "this is the IRS". Because this number is all over the internet, why has nothing been done about these people? I have the number to the IRS fraud department and plan to call them today but will it do any good, since these jerks have been at this for quite some time.
I got a call and got the exactly the same messages as "aaa" left on my machine today. Didn't even bother to return the call. Thanks for all of you who posted and reported the scam!
