they called my work and left this number to call back. a male with a middle eastern accent stated he was officer james (couldnt make out what he said last name was) and told my employer I was a suspect in a cyber crime
This is a scam. They are trying to extort as much money from people as possible. They have been shut down in other states and move around until they find someone to extort from. Report the number and name given to the local police department, your state's attorney general, and the FCC. I work for a bail bond company and they called our company cell threatening one of my employees. When I got on the phone asking what business they had with us they claimed to work for local law enforcement on a case concerning my employee. WRONG ANSWER! Do not let them scam your or your loved ones.
