Got a call from "US Treasury", Steve Martin....Indian Accent....called back...he answers phone as US Treasury....you can hear lots of other phones in the background...then he hangs up.....obvious scam...but don't know what.
My wife got a call from good ol' Steve Martin letting her know that there is an arrest warrant out for her for problems with back taxes. Really? What problems? Now the IRS is arresting people instead of auditing them? These guys are not very smart. When my wife told them we were going to call the police, they hung up. They gave us the 530-532-2612 number.
Received call from someone (sounding middle eastern) claiming to be from the Legal enforcement dept of the IRS. He left a message to call him back regarding an outstanding warrant in my name for back taxes. When I asked why it was that I did receive anything in the mail he said it had been sent. I ask the year of the tax issue and he hung up.
Same ole song here. This guy is obviously clueless who Steve Martin is!!! I am so tired of these fools calling me on my home phone that my answering machine now says" Hello, this phone number is for messages only, I NEVER answer this line. Leave your name and number if you want me to call you back. It is amazing how my calls have cut down. I am old school and like having my home phone as well as my cell. All my family and friends call on the cell. I give out the home number for everything else. If it important, I will call you back but at my convenience.
