•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
A male with deep foreign accent claiming to be with the IRS has called several times & asked for me by name. In one instance, he left a threatening VM concerning a tax deficiency. I hope they are caught & deported back to their third world rat hole!
Allen Cooper (with strong Indian accent) of IRS called to tell us that we need to call back immediately for income tax issues before IRS takes legal action against us. The problem was he knew my name and phone number. How the heck he got our info? This fellow needs to be stopped and prosecuted for harassing so many innocent people. Will file a complaint to the Do Not Call Registry as well.

Probably not. The IRS says one of the hallmarks of some of these scams is, "Victims hear background noise of other calls being conducted to mimic a call site." It's probably just a recording.
