I got a call stating they was with the Childrens last wish and asking for a donation. I guess they arent making enough money as FOP. The caller said she was from PA the number was VA. Either way I think this is a bogus scam and wouldnt donate to it.
Several times this number has called. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize. The phone only rings three times, my answering machine picks up on the fourth but they hang up before the machine kicks on. I have reported this number to the local FOP, considering I don't live in VA nor do I have family there. They've had several reports of this as a scam.
Just got a call fr. them- didn't pick up, and they left no message. Yr. or two ago they called and tried to "guilt" my wife into donating, stating that she'd made a pledge, which wasn't true. We'd given once, and asked not to be called again. Above comments are so true: give locally, or directly to any national non-profit. The "professional pleaders" take a big bite out of any $$$ you donate, and are rude, insistent and sometimes dishonest, in our experience.
