Just got the HSBC scam text too asking me to call 540-288-4451. The originating number says it's 877-312-2131. I don't have an account there. I didn't try calling either number.
Got two texts in one day. Scam this is [***]. I wish I could have talked to someone from this scam operation and lead them on. Dirty dumbsters. Don't really care but I wish they would stop sending those texts.
This is a scam. I received the following text:
[unverified sender] (8771588753) H S B C Alert 189545. Please call (540)-288-4451
I have an HSBC account. I called the number but when they came to ask for the last 4 digits of my SS number, I hung up and called the number on the back of my card. HSBC doesn't recognize the phone numbers as their own and there was no alert on my account.
I just got the same message - I've actually received two today - from phone numbers 877-898-9954 and 877-547-8547. I get a txt message saying H S B C alert Please call and there were two numbers to call: 877-250-2216 and 877-547-8547. these are scams! dont call these numbers.
