They cannot be prosecuted. Largely because they are in India and Pakistan. The US has no jurisdiction and the local governments do nothing to shut down the call centers where these calls originate. Invest in a call blocker and do not pick up on calls you do not recognize.
We just got a call, threatened us that the police will show up to arrest us due to taxes we owed from 2008 to 2013. We called back, and the call was answered immediately with a lady saying, "IRS". Funny, the IRS answered a call after 2 rings??? We told them we are waiting at our house for police to show up.
This number came up on my phone a few days ago 11/3/2015 @ 11:35AM....some bogus tax fraud collector...Caribbean accent, possibly. He left a recorded message as per the notes in this email trail. Somebody needs to arrest these idiots.The number is in the emails and it's someone in Cliffside Park, NJ....go find them!
Just got a call from this number. He claimed he was an IRS officer, I asked him for a badge #, he came up with one, I told him he was full of it and I work for the IRS and was reporting his # and he immediately hung up. I called back to harass them and they answered "IRS" Dept. I asked the idiot for her address and she immediately hung up again. I love to harass these idiots back I get a kick out of it.
Same here - just got a call 5 minutes ago. Her name: Lisa Isack. She said that the IRS has claimed a lawsuit against me and that they need my criminal lawyer. :-) Indian accent? Not sure...not American for sure.
