They cannot be prosecuted. Largely because they are in India and Pakistan. The US has no jurisdiction and the local governments do nothing to shut down the call centers where these calls originate. Invest in a call blocker and do not pick up on calls you do not recognize.
Just received the same message, word for word! Had an earlier message worded almost identically from another scam number. British accents. What a bunch of crap! But, there's a sucker born every minute so I'm sure there will be some poor folks who get sucked into this . . .
Just received the same message on my cell phone as all the other reports. Threatening a lawsuit and that I needed to contact my attorney and don't disregard this message.....what a scam !
Don't answer and don't give any info. These are telephone spoofers and are trying to get your SSN and information to commit identity theft or get money out of you.
