They have been calling me to collect on a mail order school course that I cancelled, never took or recieved. From 1998, ten years after the fact. They are pushy, rude and thick. Not to mention the fact I they do not care if I even own the debt, just to collect it.
Okay well these are some folks in the collections business these days. Funny part is I work in Law Enforcement with a good credit score and have no outstanding debt. They called me today about a 1999 debt owed that was paid in full in 2001. I asked why their client would still try to obtain funds on a closed account and even gave them a ref # to the court documents. She told me well sir, we will still try and collect the debt even if theres a court filling. WOW well in the great State where I live and work a court order goes a long ways. Oh well, my phone sits on silent at home and at work its off most of the time so they can keep calling so i will have something to laugh at.
Called my house 9pm WTF? When I asked who this is they didn't give a company name or anything, they only requested that I contact them immediately and that it is important. I might might as well block their number easiest thing to do.
"I have a legal matter to discuss with you" This is what someone named David keeps leaving on my voice mail. He is also calling me at work which is illegal in my state. I have sent several letters and they are being ignored. I asked them several times to send me by mail the information on what it is they want, but nothing. How do I get them to stop?
I would get on a "DO NOT CALLING LIST" THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS THIS AND AND SOME STATES ALSO HAVE THIS. REGISTER WITH THEM. ALSO I HAD THESE JERKS CALL ME ALL THE TIME, AND I WOULD JUST PICK UP THE RECEIVER FOR A SECOND OR TWO, THEN HANG UP, THEY STOPPED CALLING FOR QUITE AWHILE AFTER THAT. IF THEY CONTINUE, YOU CAN ALSO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF YOUR STATE, BUT ALWAYS DOCUMENT WHEN THESE IDIOTS CALL. GET THE TIME,(INCLUDE AM OR PM) DATE, DAY, AND YEAR.
