Just received a call, but it came up as +58 02336186 as if it were a from a foreign exchange. I did not pick up and no message was left, so I blocked it.
The caller claims to be from "Geek Support Live." This is the third call I've received from them from Enid, OK (one may have identified himself as being affiliated with Microsoft). The caller claims that they provide a free service to check your computer for viruses and malware. All you have to do is give him remote access to your computer so that he can "check" it. Yeah....right. That doesn't sound "phishy" at all. BEWARE! NEVER give remote access to your computer to someone who calls you.
Called : 5:36 pm EST 2/21/14 to AT&T landline. Caller ID reads: Unknown name Msg Left: none
Not sure who is behind this number, but very unhappy to read the comments that this could be someone trying to gain access to computer. Had family recently that had one of those type of calls but it was from a different number.
I've used geek squad before and would have given them this particular phone number to call. Wonder if Best Buy got hacked or someone working for them is using customer information.
Just got a hang up call on my cell phone. My caller id says Venezuela - maybe that explains the heavy accent some people have reported. Didn't leave a message.
