Had the same problem Indian guy claiming my PC has virus and wanted to help me get rid of hacker ( Roger Drake ) who is accecessing my network from Canada. He called from payphone at 6:05 pm Tuesday April, 14, 2015. Me being stupid turned on my PC and there he was moving mouse pointer and took me to team review site to download program which I didn't do. I asked him name, he says Steve of Windows Tech Dept and phone number is 855-674-1190 and his extension is 1016. He asked for credit card info to get rid of viruses and I refused, so turned off my PC and turned on later to discover a gunmetal gray pop-up box appears waiting for password. I was upset a bit but not much because I don,'t keep anything on my PC aside from music. So there was nothing to take no stored credit cards, passwords. What I did was clean PC, then reinstalled Windows changed all passwords and installed Viper which is wonderful.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
Received 2 phone calls yesterday. The first showed no number. The second was from : 607-324-9846. Same man, same voice and same story about my computer. Each time I told him in french that I did not speak or understand english. He seemed amazed and said a few un-understandable words. I kept saying in french :" I do not speak english, please speak to me in french so that I can understand your message which seems so important..." I kept silent afterward and after about 1 minute, he hung.
My daughters had the same calls this year also.
These scammers deserve to be put in jail!
I received a call from this number today. And I have received the same call from numbers all over the country. "Your computer is sending messages saying it had germs." I was transferred to the supervisor who talked so quickly I couldn't get a word in edge wise. When he asked if I saw something on my screen I said "yes". He asked me to read it to him and I responded with "Before I tell you what I can see I would like to ask a question". He was confused by that and went on with his speech and asked me again what I saw. I said I see "I am short on time, what is this going to cost me, roughly?" He said between 170.00-400.00. I told him for that I can go out and buy a whole new computer and I would rather do that than pay scammers and to take my number out of your system". He said he would have to delete my ip address. I said good and hung up.
This call came in just 5 minutes ago and I immediately added it to my block list while it was still ringing. Caller ID says New York and I know of no one who would be calling me from there. If it is PCH then they can just send the Prize Patrol. Then I did a lookup of the number here.
When I block a call they get a loud raspy fast busy, you know the type that you hear when a twisted pair phone is left off hook and it times out. You can hear it across the room alerting that the phone is off hook. I do this with my call blocker on an extra laptop that I leave attached to the phone line just for this. The software is called CallClerk.
I got a call from this number 607 324-9846 - caller ID said it was New York
Here was the message
“Hello, we have been trying to reach you. This call is officially a final notice from the IRS, Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing a lawsuit against you.”
When I called the IRS phone number it was uncanny how the recorded voice sounded identical.
