Had the same problem Indian guy claiming my PC has virus and wanted to help me get rid of hacker ( Roger Drake ) who is accecessing my network from Canada. He called from payphone at 6:05 pm Tuesday April, 14, 2015. Me being stupid turned on my PC and there he was moving mouse pointer and took me to team review site to download program which I didn't do. I asked him name, he says Steve of Windows Tech Dept and phone number is 855-674-1190 and his extension is 1016. He asked for credit card info to get rid of viruses and I refused, so turned off my PC and turned on later to discover a gunmetal gray pop-up box appears waiting for password. I was upset a bit but not much because I don,'t keep anything on my PC aside from music. So there was nothing to take no stored credit cards, passwords. What I did was clean PC, then reinstalled Windows changed all passwords and installed Viper which is wonderful.
TY for the info. Got two calls from them today. One at this # and another at 2108240171. what tells me this is suspicious I that they called using a different #, to try to throw me off!! Didn't work!!
This dude keeps calling us and it getting so annoying. I never answer the phone if the call is from another state so I don't know what the dude has to say, but I looked the number up and it is all over the Internet that whoever the caller is either says he is a policeman or something about fixing your computer and the several people who called the local New York Police say that the police did not think the case was legit enough to look into it. I wish the dude would stop calling, this is so irritating. After this person hung up, 2 seconds later, another supposedly fake number calls. This time, caller identification said that it was from Product Dev Corporation 303-208-8689. I looked up this company too and a few people say that it is legit but a lot more people say that it is fake and the caller keeps harassing people by calling until they answer the phone and then hanging up on them or playing some sort of stupid noise on the line.
I had a call from this indian fellow today around 4:30 He told me my computer had a virus He ask me to go to my computer and he would help me I told him no and hung up on him I then picked up my phone to use it and he was still on the line He was very upset with me and told me that he was going to F... my wife and daughter and eat their P.... out I then hit record on my answering machine and told him he was binging recorded That did not seem to bother him He ask how many daughters I had I then hung up on him with further investigation I found out this phone number came from a pay phone at Friendlys Restaurant 41 main St Hornell NY These guys are scum bags and the way he spoke to me today was terrible I sure hope someday these guys get in serious trouble for doing this to people I,m going to my local police tomorrow and sure hope something can be done about these scums
