These people are phishing for information - do not answer their questions!
They have been calling for the past few weeks/months trying to get information from our users. They claim to have relevant whitepapers to send to us, but they require personal and business information from us before they can proceed. Each time they call they claim to be from a different company. They are definitely trying to extract information from our users, which will probably be used to either scam them, or to sell the gathered information.
Love these threads that sniff out bs calls like this - mentioned me by name but wouldn't respond to my questions back - hung up on him but no call back yet....
Same as above...also from 011-60241-0-116-0241 and the 607-590-2105 as noted above. Always some Indian/Pakistani type wanting to send me a document about something in technology. Tried all of the usual tricks, even told them my "new" number (fake and doesn't exist) to call. Hells bells, I even tried a loud whistle but they must have a sophisticated sound level blocker because he never stopped talking. I think I'll just say sure, send it my way pal. That way once I have their from email addr, I can just set a rule to drop that into the garbage. I sure as heck ain't going to open it.
Keep getting calls transferred from reception from this number that I never answer. Today, they forgot to hang up when I didn't answer and left a 5 minute voicemail of background noise and what sounded like an airport in India. I tried to call back and complain, but call back is always busy.
Lady calls and asks for a co-worker- i explain to her he works remotely and ask if i can take a message for her- she says "no i will call back later" i repeat -slowly. and clearly. he. does. not. work. out. of. this. office. can i take a message to pass on to him so he can return the call. she says no...and so i state- "if this is a sales call- can you just remove us from your list?" i effing hate these telemarketers. they barely understand english, and only seem to know enought to give the "script" they are given
