A person from BFEX (Bejing Future Exchange) called me regarding a TAX-ID no for China.
The persons present himself as David Rothberg who works for BFEX legal departement. He says he is hungarian and are calling from Beijing. The company is a fake Market Maker. Is it possible to find the persons name?
I keep getting phone calls from this number, as well as a couple other numbers that I am positive are the same people just changing their number. I think they are just spoofing their number to a different one, not actually calling from that location. I am certain they are all the same because I have gotten these calls within a short period of time right after one another, and they all behave the same.
I answer the phone, and then about 10 seconds pass before a distinct computerized voice beeps and then says "Goodbye". In my opinion, they are testing to either have someone who is more vulnerable answer the phone, or they are wanting to check and see if we are home (kinda scary). Or they could just be checking to make sure its a valid number to pass on to some spam partner.
There probably isn't any way to stop them because they are not from the US. Also, when I called it back, the number is out of service.

I received a call from this number today claiming to be MS Windows support, calling about a problem with my computer. It's the second call of this type I had in 24 hours, the 3rd in a week. Needless to say, this is a scam; I don't even own a Windows computer. It's just a way to try to get credit card info and/or gain remote access to your PC. I always ask them to tell me my IP address, serial number, or what OS version I'm running - data they should already have on hand - in order to prove they are who they claim to be. Not having an answer, they always hang up on me within a few seconds.
This same man phones - definitely has an East Indian accent. He always gives an English name such as Andy Parker or Joe Smith, etc. The line crackles and it is obvious a scam.
