Got a call from this number this morning on my cell phone. I didn't answer since the number was from NY with no other identifying info and I don't know anyone in NY and don't answer unknown calls. A message was left on my voice mail. It was a female speaking English without any noticeable accent. She stated that the IRS was instituting a law suit against me and that I should call her back. This is so obviously BS. I've dealt with the IRS before in situations where they were trying to collect money from a client of mine, and they simply don't operate this way. What a pack of morons.
I received a call from this number at 9pm from a man with a heavy Indian accent. He asked for me by name and said he was from microsoft security and there was a problem with my computer. I told him this is a scam call and take me immediately off your call list as I don't own any microsoft computers, only mac. He said he would see what he could do to take me off his list.
Just got a call from this number with the caller ID reading "PAYPHONE". It was an automated message that did not state who the call was intended for, but claimed that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me, and left a callback number. Obvious scam.
