Got the same phone call except I knew it was a scam ahead of time I told him I knew and he began to sexually harass me over the phone and even told me to [***] ... I had my few choice words for him and then blocked the number from calling again
I just got the call after trying to get a loan and they even called my boyfriend. When I called back, the answering machine picked up... they're obviously not from this country. Im only 21 and I know I haven't done anything. I cant wait until they call back... lol Sorry to those who actually paid :(
Times have been tough lately and I keep having to get payday loans so I know they are getting my information from them. I had and Indian accented man call me at work twice today. When I finally understood him by the second call he said his name was Frank something a the Federal Legislative Dept. The call came from this number which says it is Elmira, NY on my phone ID at work. Anyhow, he said he wanted my attorney information because I had charges against my name and social security number. I have looked into this a little for a friend and I know that we don't have a debtor's prison so I told him this was harassment on the first call and hung up. The second call I tried to get his full name but couldn't understand him. He wanted to know if I was me and I said I can help you if you get someone on the phone that spoke English. (No offense, but I couldn't understand them.) Then they hung up. Then I googled this number and got this site and have now filed a Do not call registration for my home, cell and work number. I am hoping that helps with this but the next time they call, if I can find some privacy I am going to let them know I know its a scam and I filed a complaint as suggested under Telisha's post with the ftc. Oh and when I called the number I got an operator named Cathy Potter at the Legal Department. I left a voice mail, for someone to call me back so I could see what this is in reference too but I am not giving out any personal information. Hopefully, she wont even be able to get through because the register for telemarketing do not calls. I am so sorry to those of you whom actually got swindled. Crooks!
Its a scam, I have received the same phone call. Please did not fall into their scheme, they will ask you to make a settlement around $450 through e-pay or western union. PLEASE!!!!! Do not apply for a pay day loan online this is how they recieve your information. Just tell them you have traced their number and you are contacting the federal government your self, they will stop calling you immediatley.
They called my work and left this # for me to call. I told receptionist if they call back tell them i got fired or make up some really horrible way i died...lol...doubt that will stop them from calling tho...seems like i get these calls for about a week every 6 months or so then they stop...just keep ignoring and maybe sooner or later they will have to go get a real job!!!
