SCAMMERS! A real 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization would not hide their name and conduct themselves in the manner as stated by numerous victims here and elsewhere. They made a critical mistake by calling a secure WITPRO (Witness Protection) location where all incoming calls are traced to their point of origin and not by the spoof caller ID. The agency is now required to visit them.
Just got a call from this number and the caller identified themselves as NY Police Association wanting me to pledge a donation, and they will send me a packet in the mail. I let them send me the packet and told them I would be investigating their organization, at which point I was "thanked" and promptly hung up on. There is no such association from what I can tell, and even if there were, they do not solicit over the phone like this. Am reporting this to my TRUE NY Police Dept. and let them follow up on these guys.

This guy has been doing this for perhaps years now. I think everyone has heard from him by now. Why has no agency followed up on this and stopped him? His number comes up over and over on the internet as a clear scam pretending to raise money for the police.
