I got the same call and same scam! Ugh can't believe it!!! Phone number I got was 1-855-563-4431 and 978-237-9508 EduCare is the company. Sam Singh is his name! Oh my am I mad! I called back the next day to talk to Sam and ofcourse couldn't get ahold of him because he was too busy scamming other people so I sweet talked another one into giving me their mailing address. 616 Corporate Way

Now, who knows if this is their REAL address or not! I thought they were in Florida from all the Googling I did! I am sending them a cancellation letter and told them I wanted out. Ofcourse he said this was going to be bad for me and he would have no choice but to send me to collections. I told him I already put a Fraud Alert on my credit so have at!
I told him to Google themselves....they have a HORRID reputation and Sam Signh should change his name! He didn't like that...I told him that I already called the FTC and filed a claim and cancelled all my accts including my checking acct so he wasn't getting his withdrawls. I spent all day doing this BS and am just pissed! They didn't get anything (other than my ssn) which is horrible and now I have to be on alert for ever! But, my accts weren't hacked and no money was stolen but I feel so ridiculous and pissed at myself! I NEVER EVER fall for crap like this! I don't trust ANYONE!!! Listen to your gut...they called me a few months ago and I pretty much called him a con artist (and I think it was Sam) and he was pretty nasty to me and I asked for a verification phone number so I could verify that he was really with the bank. He gave me Bank Card Services phone number so I called it. Asked them if they had people calling to lower rates. They said yes but was very vague. Not sure if she didn't understand or if it was fishy....from what I'm gathering now I think the number they actually gave me rerouted BACK to THEM! They are GOOD! No conscience...hearing all the people in the background just knowing that they are doing it to all them on the line...makes me ill! Call the FTC, put up a fraud alert on Equifax they will send it the other two, put a block on your cell phone of the numbers if you can, put them on the Do Not Call list 1-888-382-1222! These guys are scum!
I just went thru this with them. They got incredibly mad when I wouldn't give them my social. They also got defensive when I called back and told them to record the call. Got sent to a "manager" who said he was recording it. I told him good as I was recording it on my side. I then states my name and date and that I did not authorize his company to take any payments. Informed him that I had closed my accts. He was actually going to try to get my new acct number. I told him no and good luck scamming people.
I thought it was funny when he told me that online there are only "60-80" bad reviews. Try again buddy. You're way over that. Stupid scammer jerks.
i just got scammed . same thing happened to me as all of you i will try to report them to bbb. and they threatened to report me to a collection agency . did they every report you to a collection agency?
They called me to lower rates initially I thought I was talking to my credit card company they had all of my info. Credit card number, address, latest payment, and ss#. I was scammed but hung up before letting them act as my financial advisor. They were aggressive and persistent towards the end of call. I had to change credit card number, pay for fraud alert, etc. 2 weeks later someone tried to use my debit card for online purchase. So freaking violated!
