I received a call from this number claiming to be Bell internet repair service. Asked if my tv or internet had been freezing in which it has been happening with the TV and they offered to send a Bell tech free of charge to look at the problem. Right away a red flag went up because BELL does not do these courtesy calls on the whim. I was told they were monitoring my service and noticed errors on the line. This has me severely worried as they had a lot of personal info and when I check with Bell they informed me the call I received was fraudulent. I have no idea what the callers intentions are but calling the number back there was a voicemail and ab 800 number as well

Call is legit.
They did not ask you for information, they provided you with information.
They offered to send a Bell tech to repair the line free of charge, they are not asking for you billing information.
All bell technicians have an employee ID, a visible Bell badge on them at all times, and drive a bell vehicle.
The agent would have created a ticket that is visible on file.
The agent would have given you their employee number freely if you request it.
Bell is a very large company, and when you call in they are not always aware of other departments.
If you receive a call from "Bell" advising "Payment was not received, we need your credit card number now otherwise service will be disrupted", yes, that could very well be Fraud.
If you receive a call from Bell advising there is a problem on the line, this can be truthful. It is a service call.
Depending on the severity of the problem, they will not send a technician out without your consent first.
If the problem is affecting other people's line, or misdialing to 911 for example...they will send you a tech regardless, with or without your consent.
Be aware of the caller. Ask for an employee number. Ask for a ticket number. Ask for a callback number. If you don't feel comfortable with the call, you have data that will allow you to validate if it is true or not, and you will then be able to confirm. Without this information, you will likely be told it's not real because they have not way to verify if it is real or not.
BTW...613 is an area code in Ontario, where the callcenter would be located. Toll free number is provided to avoid long distance charges if you want to call them back.
