She told me the same thing today and said they had enough evidence to do so stating an old address and employment that can pretty much be found on Google. I asked what was the supposed amount and she couldn't give me that information.
"This is Rachel with 'Mediation Services'. We have pending case in our office and it imperative that you or your legal counsel call immediately, if we do not hear from you or your lawyer today, we will document that you have waived right to counsel. 'Govern yourself accordingly'" The phone number I am "supposed" to call is 614-245-0632
Got a call from 6142440632 this morning few minutes ago. Basically saying the same thing as MShannon complaint above. Says to contact mediator regarding a claim against me. Don't know these people and believe it to be a scammer calling.
Same thing happened to me today. Because I thought I recognized the area code/business call, I called them back before I checked my voicemail. "Rachel" answered as the receptionist/gatekeeper whatever, and then said she'd need to verify that she was speaking to me. I said yes, then she said she was going to "forward me to a mediator".....yeah ok. About 4 minutes later she comes back on (I was in traffic so let's just say I had time to kill) and then presents this "case" and I'm like Rachel weren't you JUST the receptionist? NOW you're the mediator who tells me that there's a CRIMINAL charge (3 actually) against me and the charges are going to be filed in my local court system TODAY if we can't come to an arrangement, agreement, etc. and I'm saying WHAT charges? She says uh, fraudulent filing, avoiding repayment of a debt, and something Federal. She mentioned a DirectLoans payday loans service as the company filing the charges and I stopped her right there -- no ma'am, didn't get a loan, didn't have a loan, and don't want a loan from them. She asked to verify my social (which she HAD -- how in the world is this information getting sold and shopped around) and I told her I did not verify that information; she would need to send me whatever in writing. That must have not been the right thing to say in the conversation chart (if yes go this way, if no go that way) because then she says well she'll go ahead and tell the company to continue with the filing of criminal charges....I told her good luck and may the force be with her.
