She told me the same thing today and said they had enough evidence to do so stating an old address and employment that can pretty much be found on Google. I asked what was the supposed amount and she couldn't give me that information.
I agree. My husband said I shouldn't have spoken to them or give them any info but she had all the OLD information already and the last 4 of my SS. If she has that I'm already screwed. I hung up with thinking the same thing "how are you going to mail me something when you have everything but my address??" She actually asked me for money. Lol ppl really get a paycheck to do stuff like this!
Same as all of the above. They don't get it. They get very upset when you make them have to think and go off script. They must not have consciences to be able to get paid for scamming and harassing.
I received the same call as all those mentioned above but from number 614 245 0637. I called the court and even called them back to say there was nothing with the court. I also asked for the company name and they said Meyer recovery. All they continued to say was I would receive a letter in 15 business days with my court date.... Darin Free was the person I spoke with.
I got the same call, since I know only collection agencies can contact you to make a payment arrangements and you will never be sued over the phone, that documentation comes from the courts. I told her do whatever she feels is necessary. Heck even the courts give you a notice to dispute any debt. Their being forceful as if you better pay. Sure sign to not pay a penny, never say yes who you are when asked "are you Jill or Jack or whatever." Always answer "This is (your name here) She rambles on and when you ask a question, they beat around the bush and try not to answer any questions as to what is the date of the debt or who is collecting. They'll say a Pay day loan? Really there's million of them out there and since she won't share the name of the pay day loan provider and knowing I haven't had one in 15 years, I'm pretty sure this debt would get thrown out of court even if there was one, which there isn't.
Received calls to my landline and cell this morning from a similar number and received the same scripted voicemail message from Rachel Lomax. I know I do not owe any debts, and I also know that you don't "waive your right to counsel" by failing to return a call today. I filed complaints with the Office of the Attorney General (AG) for the State of California as well as with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). It's easy to submit complaints online with your state AG office and the FTC. If you believe these calls to be fraudulent, please file complaints.
