Yes, they do need the DNC llst if they are a telemarketer as per the definition of a telemarketer. They need to scrum their lists. No, they don't buy the list to have "good" phone numbers. That is simply some fantasy someone made up (probably a telemarketer). It doesn't matter where they get your number, the law is the law and real legitimate companies abide by it. Crooks and criminals never do.

This person wanted to talk to me about my electric bill. I immediately said please remove me from your call list. This girl Amy was rude and used inappropriate language and said to remove my number she would need to identify it, blah blah, blah. I said you know my number because you called it. She said God I won't remove your number blah, blah blah. And hung up on me!
Stop! I do not want to be solicited in my home! This is harassment !
Called 1:13PM EDST 1/22/14
CALLER ID: Hilliard (OH)
No message.
If as above this would make sense. Different electric companies have been trying to solicit new business in this area for weeks. We are part of a consortium of some 60 cities and already get a good rate.
This number has been calling for the past week everyday, we'll today they called 3 times and on the 4th time I picked it up, they said they were looking for a so and so, and I did not give much info, all I said was you have the wrong number and they said okay. Hopefully that's the last time they call.
