This number called our business again, this time today at 1329 hours. The 617 area code is in our state so I didn't suspect anything odd at first. When I picked up the phone I heard a familiar "bloop" sound that immediately warned me it was a telemarketer, spammer, or scam artist. They guy who picked up on the other end said he was trying to reach the person in charge of the electric bill. Ugh. I told him, in a weary voice, "Please don't call again. We don't need your scam," and hung up. I'm sure they'll call back again. The very fact that other people have tried to call the number back and got a message that it was disconnected or not a valid number makes me very determined NOT to have anything to do with whoever they are.
We got a call from this number today at 3:44 pm and didn't answer. No voice mail message was left. The caller ID was OUT OF AREA/UNKNOWN NAME. The number is spoofed. When I called back I heard a recording which stated "We're sorry. Your call cannot be completed as dialed. The number will be added to our call blocker.
We got a call from this number again today at 10:20 am. This time it was blocked by our call blocker. I find amusing the technological battle of robo calls vs. a call blocker. The call blocker always wins.
This number called our business today at 0915. As I was on the phone with a legitimate customer at the time, the phone system shifted the call to an automatic answering system. They did not leave a message. Though we are near the 617 area code, I have a sneaking suspicion that it was a bogus call, probably from a spoofed number. A different site claims it was about electric rates so I guess that b.s. is starting again.
