This number called our business again, this time today at 1329 hours. The 617 area code is in our state so I didn't suspect anything odd at first. When I picked up the phone I heard a familiar "bloop" sound that immediately warned me it was a telemarketer, spammer, or scam artist. They guy who picked up on the other end said he was trying to reach the person in charge of the electric bill. Ugh. I told him, in a weary voice, "Please don't call again. We don't need your scam," and hung up. I'm sure they'll call back again. The very fact that other people have tried to call the number back and got a message that it was disconnected or not a valid number makes me very determined NOT to have anything to do with whoever they are.
The guy on the other end was very RUDE.
I would not buy anything from that company.
It is a second/third party electric company trying to get your business in MA, due to electric reclassification because of the shutdowned power plant in VT.
I had a missed call from this number today and yesterday. Showed its a local number from Jamaica Plain, I tried calling back and got a recording: "the number is not in service". Annoying.
From others I know this is a utility co looking for new customers but they did not leave a message when they called my landline today. And on calling them back I got the message that this number has been disconnected. Clearly a phishy business.
