lol received the same IRS tax scam call, left the same message on my voicemail as others, i proceeded to call them back and messed with them. Additional attempts to call back resulted in going to a voicemail which i left my own comical voicemails in a fake indian accent.
Received asking for a return phone call. Contacted them from a completely different number and it was a male with a heavy accent stating his name is Alan Page and providing a badge number. Deciding to get more information I played along. While hearing children play in the background the man states he was with the Department of Treasury and was trying to settle a debt before the magistrate started litigation. I then asked him what the amount I owed was. He stated it was $1500 due to 2013 taxes being filed incorrectly. When I asked him what mailing address they sent the paperwork to he stated he was not able to provide that since it was an unsecure line...... I am amazed at the greatness of our country... they knew how much I owed without a phone number, social, date of birth, first or last name. Needless to say he was not agreeable when I told him to go ahead and start legal proceedings, he can send the paper work to the address he cant provide because it is not secure line.....
