2:45pm, over 2000 scam calls listed on whitepages.com. Wide variety of scams originate from this number. A grigter family is rerported as the operators of this number. Area code 620 is now blocked because I have no friends, family, or business in this area.
If you get a blocker like CPR you can block entire area codes. You don't have to block individual numbers! Just don't block area codes where you have family.
High pressure pushy tub salesman. Let him talk for 15 minutes letting him think I was sold then told him to go to hell and blocked him. 10-15 of these calls a day I block. First one I answered in ages, kind of fun playing with them.
No voice mail. I do email the attorney generals from each state about these spoofed numbers. It doesn't do any good but it make somebody earn a pay check
Regarding where they get the numbers from: Google any name and you will get numerous hits of people with that name, their ages and relatives. If you pay money, you can also get their phone numbers and addresses. So I think Medicare and AARP are off the hook.
I have found that a call blocker has greatly reduced the number of spam calls I get - but of course it's not perfect.
