Folks - STOP ANSWERING UNKNOWN CALLS! THEY ARE ALWAYS CRIMINAL TELEMARKETERS!
This is a fake phone number BUT we have had the entire 626 area code blocked for nearly 2 years! It doesn't matter WHAT number they call from - if they call from the 626 area code, THEY ARE BLOCKED and our PHONES DO NOT RING!!!
Currently, we have over 240 area codes blocked and our phones do not ring!
called again - blocked forever
Just before this call, receive a call from another fake number 310 178-9461.
I suspect that both numbers are from the same criminal scammer.

just got a call from this # too. I do not answer and then take a minute, right away to report to donotcall.gov. I want to get something to block these calls as well. It would be best not to even have to get up to get the phone and see the incoming #!
I'm addressing this to you in particular as seemingly just about anytime I do a Google search on a problematic phone number, I see your comments on that page as well. I can only assume that you and I are both plagued by the same circumstances routinely.
Anyhow, I just wrote to the Associated Press in response to an article I just read on my Yahoo Home Page. Here is the link/URL to it.
I immediately went to the Associated Press website to find at least an e/mail address to write to and I addressed what I wrote to the lady who wrote the article that you'll see if you go to this link. I can’t tell you how pleased I was to suddenly see this article that relates to stopping illegal robo calls and texts as written by Jennifer c. Kerr. I have had the same phone number (landline) since 1970 and I can not change it as that would be way too inconvenient. In any case, I have been receiving solicitation calls and robo calls religiously. In recent times, it is seemingly more robo calls as if and when I do answer my phone, there is no one answering me after saying hello repeatedly. I even receive calls between 7:00 and 7:30 in the morning. Naturally I have placed and re-placed myself on the National Do Not Call Registry List, my cell phone number as well. My relatively new 250 call blocking telephone is already nearing full capacity so I must block calls sparingly. Also, even if I block a number, it will still ring audibly here by usually just one ring. If I am on another call however, it just keeps ringing or so it seems as it continuously disturbs the real call that I am actually on with repeated call waiting beeps. This situation has gone from very bad to considerably worse. I’ve even had some very strange messages left on my home answering machine, two examples of which I recorded and saved using a voice to e/mail app on my phone. I am attaching two examples of those calls I have recorded to this e/mail for you and/or Jennifer C. Kerr to listen to. Also are you aware that you can type in a problematic phone number into your search bar and most often you will immediately be reading posts posted by persons who have also received calls from the number you just typed in. Here are a couple of my most recent random examples that I search within the last hour. The website 800notes.com is the leader in receiving insightful detailed comments posted by persons who received calls from the specific phone number that you’re searching at the moment. All you do is type in the actual number that appears to be the number that is calling you into the URL bar and if complaints, even just one has been filed on that site reading that specific phone number or fake phone number, this is most often the first insight/answer you will see. The two examples below will further show you what I mean. I happen to be an AT&T Uverse customer and they provide an on line call log that you can visit at any time to see what calls you have received or placed and from/to what phone number so I have access to every number that calls me whether it’s a real phone number or just the one that is somehow modified to display.
