Caller ID: Yueh Chang Chien, 1-626-445-9137 -- SCAM SCAM SCAM
Called again, ID'ying as a rep from "Windows"
I cut him off and said "I do not have Windows, Please Take Me Off Your List"
He said OK
I said again, "No I mean it, Take Me Off Your List, Your Company has called me repeatedly, I do not have Windows, and I no longer want these calls."
He then said, "F*ck Off"
Stunned, I said, "Pardon Me???"
He again said, louder "F*CK OFF"
I said "You talk to your mother with that mouth? TAKE ME OFF YOUR LIST" and hung up.
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BELIEVE OR TRUST THIS CALLER
just got a call from 626-445-9137 Caifornia
Indian accent - very thick- couldn't pronounce my surname.
guy asked for me by name
said he was from Windows tech support
I asked for company name - he said something i couldn't understand
I asked him to transfer me to someone who could speak English, and pronounce my name. he then re-attempted the name and got close.
I asked to speak to his supervisor - he said no supervisor was available, he was from tech support, said I'd been sending error messages from Windows
I told him that unsolicited calls for Windows support was f***ing [***], and that he'd got to be kidding. he said 'no kidding, I'm from tech support ma'am"
i hung up on him.
This one called at 1am PST! What kind of whacko makes these calls at 1am? My partner is a teacher and it isn't going to be a pleasant day in the classroom today. Putting this number on the blocker.
Got a call from this # this morning, with a lady, at least I think it was a female voice, saying she was calling from Microsoft tech support, calling from New York. Funny how this area code is for California. Anyway, same crap about my computer sending out malicious "viral" stuff. How do we get rid of these callers? Is it time to throw the computer away? Whatever would I do without it??
For those who are unsure: YOUR COMPUTER IS NOT INFECTED. Well, not based on what these jokers are saying anyway. I am a computer repair professional and these guys are just blowing smoke to get your credit card. It is already a common scam.
1) Nobody on the internet can tell if you are infected. The ONLY people who would be able to say that with any certainty would be your actual internet provider because all of your traffic goes through them. They can see when your traffic patterns change significantly. A local provider in my region will cut people off until they get their computer maintained.
2) Most of these scammers claim to be from Microsoft. If Microsoft had your name, phone number, and knew what was running on your system can you imagine the lawsuits they would get? They don't have this info. Period.
3) Tell your friends. The only way to beat this kind of scam is to make it common knowledge that it is a scam.
