Six weeks later, two calls from this number appeared on my call log, but the phone did not ring. They were both listed as the same minute. One showed a VOIP number; the other showed no name. I haven't blocked it myself - yet.

Called and left no message. J2 Global Communications is a legitimate company based in California. They must have a branch in New York and that number has been spoofed. It's actually their fax number that's been spoofed. Hopefully our outstanding phone companies(who charge us an arm and a leg)are working to correct this problem as I'm typing this(sarcasm). I've actually been called by my own number. What a joke! I think the phone companies should be mandated by our government to provide unlimited blocking in the very least. After all, their service is to blame. Just don't do any business/give personal information over the phone and we will all be ok. If you don't recognize the number, don't pick it up(unless you just feel like cursing someone out.) If it's important, they'll leave a message.
