I am receiving 2-3 calls a day, After they hung up after I picked up on the very first call, I stopped answering. No messages left. I cancelled my newspaper subscription recently and the calls started about 4 days after cancelling. When you call the number back, it's some company that apparently offers discounts on newspaper subscriptions. What a major hassle. Using their "do not call" list option is a joke.
I wouldnt even hear my cell ring usually. I would have a missed call and it would be this number. Call them back and hit 3 then 1 then 1. the automated voice takes long pauses between explaiing the options. the 3 is to "remove your name from the calling list" the first 1 is to "remove the number you are calling from from the calling list" and the last 1 is "are you really really sure you want to be removed from the list"
I had it happen today. They called twice within an hour. When I answered they hung up. I also just cancelled my newspaper subscription. The subscription actually end yesterday. A single call would not be a major problem, but they hang up when you answer then they do not leave a message.
I called them back and followed the prompts (they are exactly as Josh lists them) and it says they will remove your number within 24 hours. We will see though.
