Just got a call from this number. I actually work in IT so I knew right away it was bs, so I toyed with the guy for a while, then called him out.
him: "so yes, we are seeing malware and viruses on your computer"
me: "oh really? What's the IP of the computer?"
him: "it is a temporary IP of 192.168.1.125"
me: "yeah, no.. that's a local IP address lmao. Obvious scam."
him: "it's not a scam or I would be asking for credit card information, we just need you to visit a website so we can remove the malware"
me: "you mean hijack my PC and then demand a ransom to unlock it. Get a real job."
This number called 3 time within 2 hours today. When I picked up on third call, it was extremely Loud with about 25 other sales calls happening. IJ could not understand the person talking who was trying to tell me they were from Microsoft and wanted to fix something...... I told them I'd call back after getting the Microsoft number one their website. She tried to provide me with their 800 number but i refused.
Keep getting calls from this number. I don't answer. No voice mail left. My phone says the call is coming from New Zealand and is listed as +64 6 212 7345
