A call blocker can help. Also do not pick up on calls you do not recognize. The callers are hard core scammer/extortionists located in India and Pakistan. There's no way to stop the calls from being initiated.
Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent a while ago. At first she left a voicemail from a non wkng. #. Left me a message saying the IRS had a lawsuit against me & that I had four Federal charges pending. She said I had 1 hour in which to pay $800.00 or my file would be sent to the courthouse. She said I had IRS fraud from 2010-2015. Unfortunately I was incarcerated for 3 of those years, so I knew it was not correct. I looked her number up since she said she was with the FBI, & found the number to be a scam. She really had me going for a few minutes. Then I asked her if the FBI here in San Antonio, TX was aware of this info. & at first she said No but changed it to yes. I knew then it was a scam. The # she called from was (646) 583-0869
IRS scam they are acting like a officer told me I going jail if I don't pay them I had 4 charges vs from 2008 1800 366 4484 is the number to report this scams to or call your local police this scam been on. The news tell your family and friends so they get scammed they people are in a call center in India and Pakistan. Use common sense and don't even call back this number they read from a script and try to scare people into trying to make you believe there scam the IRS will mail you a lot off letters and you will have to sign for them they don't make phone calls go the IRS web site
This number called me at 6:30 in the morning saying they had a legal case against my husband. My husband called them back and they demanded payment within 10 minutes saying he was by a cvs pharmacy and better get there to pay them or he was going to jail the following day. Nick Johnson also demanded he get a Vanilla account or iTunes cards to pay 391.00. The following morning we got an email giving a new amount of 786.00 or he was going to jail and they were notifying his employer so his employer would take his all his wages and punish him. We contacted the local police department they said they get daily calls on this scam and don't pay them.
