Pulled the grandma scam on my grandparents. Tired of them getting these calls and someone pretending to be me asking for help and money. 2nd time this has happened
Callers are utilizing [[Google Voice]] for outgoing calls. Many different Google Voice callers, both legitimate and fraudulent, will display this number 646-624-9999 as the source.
Recieved a call from 646-624-9999 @ 16:55. I couldn't hear the lady very well, but she was asking for a supervisor. The call was recieved after hours, so there were not any supervisors at the site. I asked her if she dialed the right number and was trying to reach my company directly..and she continued to ask for an operator or customer service. I told her she had reached an operator..I am an operator. I could tell after asking a few questions that this was not a serious call and that it was a scam for sure..I looked up the number and found that a lot of people recieve phone calls from this number. I tried to return the call, as she would not reply after I asked her if she called the right number so I hung up, and the call was dropped and I recieved an error of NY245-56 (The number was no longer in service). This IS a scam.
