I got the fake Microsoft call too from a woman with a very heavy Indian accent. I told her she could stop right there because I already new about this scam and she started screaming "Go to He**" over and over again as I hung up. Thanks for the call screening tip - this number is the first on my list!
Received call from 646 624 9999. I answered and they told me they were the National Republican headquaters. Collecting to stop the democrats. Asked me to spell my name, I said what do you have, which he ignored and continued telling me why we needed to stop the democrats and would I contribute $50.00 or $35.00. I hung up.
My Dad answered one of their calls and a heavy accented man told him what to do and he fake did it and they told him to type in a command so he fake typed it in and lied and said a mysterious Warning popped up and it said to be cautious because scammers are calling people and trying to steal personal information. The guy did a worried chuckle then started swearing at my dad saying like suck my **** and blahblahblah
