The person told me that they have received many reports from my computer that I was having several problem and they were going to fix them...when they took control of my computer...without asking permission, I pulled the plug...I don't have a battery... I stated that the electrity went out...they called back three times...I didn't answer, but called my banks and cc companies and blocked all internet access.
I finally took the Microsoft rep's advice and called Capital One concerning the $200 refund from UTECH and, on a three-way call with the UTECH rep, was granted that refund. However, during that time period, I was besieged with calls from part of that network wanting to send me a check for $500. I have no internet access to my banking so all I had to do was give them my bank account number and $500 would magically appear in that account. I did not want to give this company any account or personal information as I feel all this is simply an identity theft scam. Of course, this is just my opinion on this matter but I don't believe that $500 check was ever going to appear in my account or in the mail. As it stands, I am satisfied with the refund and did not deal with any of the extra refunds offered by this network.
They said they were an on-line Pharmacy and could save me money on my drugs. The accent, poor English, and unavailable caller ID caused me to think it was a scam. Used my phone battery is going dead ploy to get a call back number. This has all the markings of a Phishing scam.
