There are no HIPPA rules preventing Hazelton/Betty Ford from disclosing that they are making the call. They aren't going to discuss a patient with you. So if they use that line I would be thinking SCAM. They charge a large fee for their services, programs and publications. So, I don't really think they need to fund raise.
This is indeed the Hazelton/Betty Ford Clinic, an excellent organization, which saves many lives including my own son. I hope anyone receiving a call from this fantastic organization will help out financially as much as you can. Their financial statements are available for anyone to see; without the donations and volunteer work by many this wonderful clinic would have to close their doors.
