This actually is a legitimate number for Regions Hospital Outpatient Services in St. Paul. I just received a message from a nurse to advise me of the details of my mom's upcoming appointment (which was not a hoax - my mom's appointment is real). The nurse left a callback number (different from this number, so yes the -7042 number may be an 'outgoing only' number) - I called her back on the number she gave, she answered, and we had a legit follow-up conversation on my mom's appointment.
Figured out what this number is from!! I didn't answer at first because I don't answer numbers I don't recognize but it ended up being my Mom at work! She works for the crisis hotline at Regions. But she most likely is not the rude one calling at various hours and being rude. I'll get to the bottom of it!
I received a phone call from this number about 10 a.m. this morning on my cell phone--I'm with Verizon. Same issue as reported by others--when I answered, there was no one there. They've also called me several times before in the past two weeks--I haven't answered those, but this is beginning to tick me off. I've added them to my contact list as Phone Scam--Regions Hosp. so I know who it is now.
This number just called me and left a male left me a message that told me I needed to head to Region's Hospital because my mother is in the hospital. (I called my mother and she is not in the hospital.) I was told not to call the number back because it would not accept calls. I was given a floor and room number and told to release the caller when I got to the hospital so he could go and see her, and was also told to "call Joe." The caller addressed me as Erin, and that is not my name. I can only assume it was a wrong number. Unfortunately, there isn't anything I can do.
