This actually is a legitimate number for Regions Hospital Outpatient Services in St. Paul. I just received a message from a nurse to advise me of the details of my mom's upcoming appointment (which was not a hoax - my mom's appointment is real). The nurse left a callback number (different from this number, so yes the -7042 number may be an 'outgoing only' number) - I called her back on the number she gave, she answered, and we had a legit follow-up conversation on my mom's appointment.
This number is or was a number for Regions Hospital in St. Paul. It could be connected to one of those phones in waiting rooms that family or visitors can use when they are calling other family members about a patient. To use it they might have to dial 9 first or some other number in order to get it to connect to lines outside the hospital. That may be why people who are on the other end are confused or upset. Esp. if they are calling about a patient who is not doing well. I don't think Regions uses this number as a general number for the hospital, but it is the number that still pops up on caller ID when someone from the actual staff is calling out on a landline phone there.
A central number at Regions Hospital. Outgoing calls are routed through this # so your phone will display this number instead of the direct number. It could be anyone at Regions. Probably a patient mis-dialing.
It is Health Partners Speciality Clinic number. Because of HIPI regulations it only gives limit info. You can try
to get Health Partners to fix it so it only calls once a day, but good luck with that. The call back number only
works 8-5 Monday through Friday so it makes no sense for 651-254-7042 to be calling on Sat or Sunday
This is NOT Regions Hospital calling people. Although the number matches them, it's actually a scam. There is technology available that allows con artists to replicate a number of a legitimate business so people are fooled into thinking it's actually them.
There have been news stories about this. One woman received a call from someone claiming to be the local sheriff, and the number matched up. But she called them and found out it was a con.
I've received calls from my own phone number before. These people must be incredibly stupid if they think people are stupid enough to believe they're receiving calls from themselves!
