Received call at 12:45am, pre-recorded message about missing teenager? What governmental agency calls a person in the middle of the night on a weekend. Scam, reported this to law enforcement.
A week ago, at 11:40 pm (nighttime) I got a pre-recorded call from my local government (in my area code) about a missing man who was mentally retarded. The call gave a description of his size (6 foot tall, 200 pounds), hair color (black), what he was wearing (color of clothes, slippers), and asked that if I saw him to call 911 immediately. This is the second time I have gotten a call about a missing person in 12 months.
If you don't want those calls, contact your police department at their non-emergency number and ask them how to opt out of receiving them.
Or you could just block the number.
I was on the phone with a Financial Worker from Ramsey County and was redirected to this number. It went straight to voicemail and I could barely understand what the man's message was. I left a voicemail and got a call back from the man who had no idea why I'd called him; he also didn't have any phone numbers for the county. Sounds like they transferred me to an old number.
So I got a missed call from this number, and after reading the comments here I learn that it could be anyone from the county calling. WHY don't they leave a message? I don't live in Ramsey Cty, but my son does. Very concerned that something has happened to him. I can't get ahold of him.
