I disconnect my Direct TV and I like everyone else on this list they call, and call, and call. Our bill started out very affordable and over time climbed to a ridiculous amount. We only watched like 4 or 5 channels and decided it was an expense that needed to go. So we disconnected and got a Roku (think that's what it's called) for our tv. We spend way less money now on tv.
Same call from Directv. I cancelled due to poor reception, raised my fee $27/mo, so I cancelled service. They sent a cancellation bill for $238. FTC filed a lawsuit against Directv for deceptive practice, advertisements and illegal fees. Google it.
Cancelled do to move and they didn't even wait the full day before calling me back. I'm moving internationally - and told them this so no Direct TV option for me - don't they read the notes before calling.
